Remember me?

I am the guy who used to post stuff here . . .

Circumstances have prevented that from happening recently. So if anyone is still reading I thought I would offer some explanations.

1) You might remember that I have a daughter now. You might be surprised to know that this takes up quite a bit of time.

2) Most of my energy and writing these days goes into Collected Miscellany - my book blog.

3) I recently had surgery on my ankle (torn tendon and membrane). This has put a drag on things as well (although technically since I am not playing sports I should have more free time to do other things).

4) The other writing I have done is sports related and end up at Sports-Central. See:
- Thoughts on the NFL Offseason:

The NFL offseason is a rough time for SC’s Kevin Holtsberry. To ease the pain, he offers some thoughts on Randy Moss, Plaxico Burress, and last year’s fine crop of wide receivers (with some Michigan Wolverine nostalgia thrown in for free).

- Tiger Time: Chasing History:

Is Tiger Woods back to his old ways? His win Sunday at Augusta could be read in many different ways, but a couple of things are clear according to SC’s Kevin Holtsberry: it makes for great golf and Tiger isn’t just battling his competitors, he’s battling history.

4) The weather is turning nice. We have had beautiful weather here in Ohio and it just doesn’t lend itself to sitting behind a computer.

I’ve got a post brewing about how my ideas and perspective on blogging have changed but haven’t had the chance to bring it to a coherent form (I know, since when has that stopped me). Everything is rather up in the air right now.

Anyway, that is the update for those few who care.

I think excuse #1 is more than adequate, and I doubt anyone would blame you for spending time on things other than blogging.

What Michael said. (And some very belated congrats on that!)
