Coffee, anti-semitism, and terrorism

Here is the thing that bugs me:
Indeed, in a new take on the old Arab boycott of Israel, activist groups are pushing for boycotts of a variety of Israeli and American products – usually with the endorsement of prominent Muslim religious leaders, like Sheik Yusuf (a/k/a Youssef) Abdullah Al-Qaradawi, a professor at Qatar University.
Two more interesting facts about Al-Qaradawi:
He’s a member of the Muslim Brotherhood – the same terrorist group as Mohammed Atta and bin Laden deputy Ayman Al-Zawahiri. This got him sent to Egyptian prison for several years and banned from preaching at Cairo mosques.
And he just happens to be a key advisor to the majority owner of a top Starbuck’s competitor, Minneapolis-based Caribou Coffee Company, Inc., which is now expanding beyond its Midwestern and Southern markets.
Al-Qaradawi heads the Shari’ah (Islamic religious law) Supervisory Board of First Islamic Investment Bank, which owns 87.8 percent of Caribou.(First Islamic’s directors and officers are mainly Saudi sheiks.)
Why would a Minnesota based company be owned by a bunch of Saudi princes? I am not usually one to boycott and politicise my economic decisions but this one bugs me. I am not sure I want to support Caribou with my business if it is owned by these creepy sheiks that are backing terrorists and supporting anti-semetic attacks.
For now I think I will just avoid Caribou.
