The Ohio Senate voted, 28-4, yesterday to double the alcohol content limit for beer to 12 percent, a move that will allow the sale of specialty beers such as porters and stouts that exceed the current 6 percent limit.
Who says politicians always cause trouble? Stout drinkers across the state are cheering.
But they missed an oppertunity to strike another blow:
Senators turned back an attempt on the floor, however, to tack a provision onto the beer bill that would have eliminated markups on wine in the state that can reach as high as 135 percent.
Oh well, I will take the victory on beer and live to fight another day on wine.
