First of all, racism isn’t cool. Secondly, i find it funny that you guys are fighting since Neil and Skynard’s fight was just a joke… they were actually friends. They even wrote songs & recorded together.

Im not gonna resort to name call’n or being disrespectful. but I want you guys who seriously believe white people are supreme reflect on why you all think that way and what your upbringing had to do with that. I think that we all need to overcome certain biases that we are raised to have. I was what people call “homophobic” untill recently when one of my close friends admitted to me that he was gay. I realized that i hadn’t even been looking at gay people as people. Thats what i think you’re doing with black people. You’re categorizing them in your head and judging them by their negatice collective traits. It wasn’t until i heard my friend’s voice on the phone quiver and shake on the phone when he was telling me did i realize that Gay people weren’t just “butt fuckn faggots,”

it isnt the color of the peoples skin that makes them criminals in the ghetto, its their economic status. The ghettos are mostly black because blacks have not, and still do not recieve as equal opportunities as whites. There are people of all races in the ghetto, and they are all exposed to criminal lifestyles and have a much higher chance of entering a criminal lifestyle than someone from the suburbs.

by the way, neil young and lynyrd skynyrd were never feuding. that is a complete misperception, it was simply a situation told by two different views. the good and the bad. hell, if you would watch Freebird the Movie you would see that Ronnie’s wearing a Neil Young t-shirt, they were actually friends.

well i see that the southern stereotype has made it all over the world. just proves that the world still has a long way to go. the south is not full of rednecks and racists. the south is a great land tarnished by a few idiots who think that someday they will restart the confederacy, but the problem is you need brains to pull off something like that. “The Swedish ‘Viking’” we are not all idiots. In fact, growing up in south carolina and having redneck friends (who were not racist), i am most likely smarter than you. stating a comment like that proves your ignorance.

It makes me very sad to read prior comments that speak of lynching black people and of how they are “natural criminals”. I thought we had come far as a nation over the past few decades. In fact, reading the post that included the commment about lynching a black person made me want to throw up. As cliche as this is (though, apparently, to some people on this page, it isn’t) it doesn’t matter what color your skin is. We are the same on the inside, and there and horrible people that belong to all colors of skin and wonderful people that belong to all colors of skin. You say you love freedom and the red, white and blue, but what kind of freedom are you promoting if you want to bring down other people? That isn’t democracy, its something called fascism. Or perhaps you agree with Hitler in that there is a dominant race and everyone else should be killed off?

I have to admit that boths songs are nice in their own right, but Neil Young tells it like it was from a black perspective and Lynard tells it from a white perspective. Two points of view and both are equally true…except Lynard decided to take a shot at Neil for presenting the truth…reality can hurt when you are living in oblivion.
