Sports fans are nervous here in Buckeye Land. Trouble may be brewing with start running back Maurice Clarett. It appears he may have been given an unfair advantage in a class he was failing:
Clarett walked out of a midterm exam last fall in an introductory course in African-American and African studies without completing the exam. He never retook the midterm and did not take the final exam. But he passed the course after taking oral exams instead, an Ohio State official said.
Academic scandal at Ohio State? Shocking. The Columbus Dispatch is also reporting that the NCAA has been talking to Clarett, possibly about his relationship with LeBron James. Perhaps Jim Tressle’s program is quite as pure as people thought. One thing is for sure Maurice Clarett is a live wire and one that is likely to cause OSU problems down the road.
