The Road to the BCS Championship

College football is not far away and I am pumped and ready. I am having a hard time deciding when I would like Ohio State to lose their first game. Right off the bat with Washington? That would put an end to this repeat and undefeated streak talk. But with Rick “liar liar pants on fire” Neuhisal gone I am not sure how focused Washington will be this season. Perhaps, a huge upset by my alma matter Bowling Green? That would be a whole lotta fun. Of course, it would be sweet to bring back the tradition of Michigan beating them on the last game of the season to ruin it all. To be honest I would probably take any one of those options or a combination of them, but a Michigan win is the key.
- I really don’t know how OSU will do this year (in the meaningless preseason coaches poll they are ranked #2) but one thing is clear: Maurice Clarett is trouble. He may be a great running back, when he is healthy, but he is unstable at best. Only time will tell if these distraction will have a major impact or not. I can’t wait to watch.
It’s a long shot, but I’m really pulling for Washington in that game. It will shut people up about Ohio State. It will also give the Huskies the momentum they need to get past newweasel.
I think Maurice’s next game will be in the NFL. Between the bling-bling in the apartment and the oral exams, he’s toast with the NCAA for this year. He’ll then turn pro next spring. Had the NFL not had an anti-freshman policy, he might have gone this year.
Still, OSU will reload; there’s always one more good tailback on the bench.
