What about the "Perot" effect? The Dems have one guy on the ballot, the Repubs have countless (I assume). Thus the Dems know who to vote for and the Repubs split their vote so many ways that none can post more votes than the one Dem. As a result, it doesn't seem likely that the Dems will lose the governorship to me.

I'm thinking that the Terrorcrats WANT to lose the Governorship of California. The state is in such bad shape that it'll take years to fix the mess and the Terrorcrats are losing voter base the whole while, especially after that mistakenly broadcast meeting with Terrorcrats saying quite plainly that they intend to obstruct any efforts to improve things.

With a Republican in office the Terrocrats have someone to beat up on and blame, which is what they're best at, and they hope that it'll be Republicans losing voter base because of the mess taking so long to clean up.
