Well, The Buckeyes did it again, beating Purdue in OT. Purdue’s Ben Jones missed a field goal in OT to keep the game alive. He had missed a 28-yarder earlier as well. The Buckeyes’ special teams kept them in the game as usual. OSU punter B.J. Sanders was probably the player of the game as he consistently kept the Boilermakers backed up near their own endzone. Kyle Orton helped them out, however, with two fumbles, one that led to an OSU touchdown and one that prevented a game winning drive. It could have been more as he was holding the ball like a loaf of bread all game. Ohio State won without scoring an offensive touchdown for the third time this year.
Anything can happen and I don’t want to get cocky, but at this point I am pretty confident that Michigan will beat Ohio State next week. I haven’t seen anything from Ohio State’s offense that would lead me to believe they are a threat. And I think Michigan has the weapons to score on Ohio State (they beat Northwestern 41-10 today). Plus, the game is at the Big House and Michigan plays a lot better at home and OSU struggles on the road. If Michigan can avoid costly turnovers and special team breakdowns, I think they beat Ohio State to win the Big Ten title.
