The places I have been state version
by davidthayer
As you can see from the map below I have been to a lot of states. Although, to be fair, most of the time I just drove or rode through without spending significant time thereabouts. I have driven to Texas and Florida a number of times and that covers a lot of ground. I spent my last semester in college out in Oregon and the trip out there involved some new states. I followed that up by getting married and going to Maine for my honeymoon so that involved another corner of the country. The Southwest is one area I haven’t seen yet. I hope to visit some friends in Arizona and California soon and sort that one out. I also need to get down to New Orleans and Rhode Island. Not all of the red states are just pass throughs, however, as I have lived in the following states (for at least a few months): Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Texas, New York, and Oregon.
What about you?
We travelled a lot when I was a kid; by the time I was in High School in the early ’80s, I had been to every state except Alaska, Hawaii, Oklahoma, and Texas.
Fast forward to 1995, when I went on a business trip to Ft. Sill, Oklahoma. Ding! Now serving number 47! I borrowed the group’s rental car one night, drove half an hour down I-35 across the Red River into Texas, and had dinner at a Sonic drive-in to close out the Lower 48.
