Beat Ohio State Week
by davidthayer
In case you are a little slow on the uptake, I changed the color scheme for the blog this week. I am not sure it is exactly Maize and Blue but it will have to do. For the UN-initiated this is the week of the Big Game. The Michigan Wolverines will travel to Columbus on Saturday for the most important game of the year. All week I will be discussing the various ways that Michigan will beat Ohio State.
I am behind enemy lines here in Columbus but that doesn’t prevent me from cheering on the Wolverines every chance I get. Sure the Wolverines are 9-1 and ranked #7 in the country, but it won’t mean much if they don’t beat the Buckeyes. Nothing rounds out the regular season quite like a little whooping of THE Ohio State Buckeyes and nothing would please me more than to see a repeat of last year’s victory. It would be even sweeter to see the Buckeyes regular season come to a close on a trouncing by the hated team up north here in Columbus. It would bring a big smile to my face to see the local newscasters and sports analysts face the camera with the look of dejection they always have after a loss. Later, I will explain why I think that is exactly what will happen.
For now, GO MICHIGAN!!!
Go Buckeyes ruin a Michigan season for a change. They have certainly ruined enough of ours.
I happen to be both a fourth-generation Central Ohioan and a graduate of the “school up north”. To let you know, however, where my loyalties lie, I do not own a single piece of Michigan clothing other than my academic hood. Scarlet and gray clothing I have in abundance. And I have a buckeye tree in my backyard.
(BTW I find this week’s change in color scheme to the blog a bit difficult on the eyes.)
LargeBill: The Buckeyes have certainly spoiled many a season for me as well. Remember Tressle won his first two. Coach Cooper, however, was practically an honorary Wolverine!
Michael: There are certainly people from all perspectives. My boos is a UM grad and who works here in Columbus but she lives in Toledo which where all the bad blood started. The color scheme is a bit hard on the eyes but it is only for one week . . .
