Ohio Headed to a Recount?

Yes, you heard that right: it looks like Ohio might have a recount. But don’t worry, it isn’t going to change the outcome:

A statewide recount of the presidential vote appears inevitable after a pair of third-party candidates said they have collected enough money to pay for it . . . Badnarik and Cobb said they aren’t trying to overturn President Bush’s 136,000-vote victory in Ohio, but just want to ensure that all votes were counted properly in the face of concerns about Election Day irregularities.

“Our bottom line is to stand up for the integrity of the voting process because the voting process is the heart of the democratic process,” said Blair Bobier, spokesman for Cobb.

What a waste of time and money. The actual cost to county election boards combined will be about $1.5 million according to the Secretary of State’s office.

  1. Michael Becker says:

If George Soros, Michael Moore, and liberals etal want to pay the actual cost then let ‘em at it. Let’s have recounts in FL, NM, AZ and what the heck, in CA & NY too.
A great place for liberal money from liberal pockets. Under no circumstance should money from any governmental agency (except maybe in CA or NY) be spent on the effort.

  2. LargeBill says:

Go Buckeyes ruin a Michigan season for a change. They have certainly ruined enough of ours.

  3. Joanne says:

As long as we’re recounting, how about Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan? If nothing else, we’ll see how much fraud the Dems committed. Cheers!

  4. Jackson says:

Maybe that’ll shut those “election fraud” theorist bloggers up finally. Let’s recount ALL 50 states!

  5. Badger Fan says:

    YES! GO BUCKEYES!

    Go Trojans!

  6. Badger Fan says:

Actually the last comment about “Go Trojans” was surrounded by “John Kerry Imitation” (I almost did it again) tags. The blog software did a good job of stripping them out.

Yes yes, don’t worry I know who the Buckeyes are playing.

  7. Axolotl says:

Gee, they’re ready to chuck the electoral college at the drop of a hat before the election, but give them a gap in Ohio they think is doable…
